Shopping woes
When your husband suggests that you go shopping to get some new "duds," it is time to go. I really hate clothes shopping and always put it off until I have thread bare clothes that don't fit well and are out of date. Let's just say that I to that point now. My favorite jeans are threatening to rip a hole in one of the knee. All my favorite tees are faded and I look like a raggamuffin most of the time. So....I just spent about an hour searching the internet for some summer things. I scanned, Gap, NY&CO, Old Navy, J Crew, Express.....nothing seems to suit me. I need a personal shopper. Does anyone have any suggestions?

I am so confused my this post. "hate clothes shopping"??? How? I don't even know what to say except -- enjoy yourself!! Have you tried Kohls on line? Target has cute and reasonably priced clothes. I hope you gain a love of clothes shopping! Although our budget and Chris would love it if I had your shopping desire.
Amy loves the clothes at Boden and J.Jill. Maybe one of those would work???
I have this problem too. At least at this current weight, I take NO pleasure in shopping. Sometimes I find really good things at Banana Republic (outlet or clearance), and sometimes Gap. Old Navy is really hit and miss though. I haven't had much luck there for quite some time.
Mmmmmm, shopping. I'll enjoy you going shopping FOR you, OK? :)
One of my favorites is Ann Taylor. All the styles are really tailored and the fabric is a nice quality so the clothes hang well. Although finding well-fitting shirts is always hit and miss for me too.
Also maybe try the beach bum tees, like Volcom, Hurley, etc. at places like Pacific Sunwear or www.killerdana.com. Sometimes those are just so comfy and fun.
Good luck!
Hey, go get a dirndl!! Always in style, particularly where you are!
Wow, I remember this conversation from several years ago. You have never liked clothes shopping. I only wish my husband would encourage me to clothes shop. I'm surprised you didn't find anything at Gap or J.Crew. I would also check Banana Republic. I don't know if you have ever had Gap jeans, but they fit so well. I always love their jeans. Also their favorite crew t's are nice.
What?!?!?! Oh dear... You need to come shopping with me... I'll set you up. :-) I can't imagine shopping over the internet tho. Not my thing either... I like to put it on.
I have a shopping school... next time you are in Utah I will bring you with me. J/K
The trick is to call Morgan at Nordstrom before you come, tell her what you're looking for, then arrive at the time you have arranged with her, and all of the things she has chosen for you are there in the dressing room to try. She has two rules when you go... don't knock it till you try it (some pieces of clothing I never thought would have looked good, but did!), and if you say one criticism about the way you look, you have to think of 2 compliments about yourself, too! It's quick and easy, and it's nice to have that second opinion of someone who's job it is to tell you if it matches.
