Some are athletes at heart

Tonight was Micah's first soccer game ever, and I (Greg) got to take him to it . He had a blast! He jumped and danced all over the field while other kids ran after the soccer ball with a killer instinct and a desire to win. Micah was clearly immune from that. He spent his time getting the best view of the game, excited when it was going our way, and rooting his teammates on when it wasn't. If other players got in his way, or the ball was a little too close, he would enthusiastically take a circuitous route around the gaggle of soccer kids to again obtain the best view of the exciting events. He wasn't quite a cheerleader... no... more like a a sports commentator in a red soccer jersey: excited to be close to the action, able to talk about the events for hours, and attracted to the camera for some upclose footage of himself. Some are athletes at heart, and others, well, just aren't.

Adorable story!
That one needs to be written in his scrapbook, baby book, or whatever record you guys keep for him.

That's hilarious. I can picture it in my mind and it cracks me up. Someone has to be the player-coach, right?

Yes, my boys are in the latter category as well. Well, not SO true. They want to be in on the action, but only on their own terms. So soccer just doesn't work. Baseball was better. At least he was having fun out there!
