It has been known for some time now that Taylor likes to turn the knobs on our stove. We removed all of the knobs, fearing that he might start a fire. I never thought to worry about the stoves of my friends.....regrettably.
The other day we visited our friends the Booths. We enjoyed a nice visit and left their home without worrying about checking the kitchen. Since Nikki had to pick up her husband from work, they left with us. At about 8pm we received a phone call informing us that the came home to a kitchen full of glass shards and burned cake. Taylor had turned on two burners. One burner had left over cake in a pyrex pan. After being on the stove for four hours, it exploded. The other burner had a pot holder only centimeters away. Fortunately it didn't catch on fire.
That night we said thank you prayers that their house didn't catch on fire and that no one was in the kitchen when the cake exploded. Now we check the kitchens of the houses we visit.

Oh dear! Thank Heaven for Tender mercies eh? WoW. Glad everyone is okay... and what are the germans thinking putting the knobs there anyway?
How scary! You'd be safe at my house but watch out at Amy's!
That is crazy! Let's hope this arson stage ends soon.
